Oh, how I love accessories but some people want to know what's up with this Pro-Black, New-Afrikan shyt I'm on? Whether you notice or not, when you dress you are identifying with something and sending a message. I choose to rep my lifestyle and make conscious statements as fashion. Purple Pill Babies is about to make this Pan-Afrikan thing extra funky, urban, sexy, eclectic & rock. These accessories are definitely changing the game. I mean let's start with the Angela Davis earrings. Everyone in her time wanted to have a fro like Angela's(even now), plus she was so revolutionary. To me Angela Davis screams fashion so I rock her on my ears! Or how about the Afrikan print door knockers? We wear door knockers all the time but to add a little culture to something already cool just makes it exceptionally cool. And we can not miss the Kemetic print earrings or plastic Ankhs..o.k yeah Anhks should be some kind of precious metal but what about the Afro Punk chick or the free lance artists that rep Kemet but doesn't have that much money to get heavy gold Ankhs or better yet just wants something light in her ears but fly? It's a very cool way to rep your history for less. Then we have the glasses; some inspired by gold adornments in Kemetic times, some inspired by (RBG)Red, Black & Green color combo & others inspired by our martyrs. So now that you got the low down on what it's all about let me briefly explain why I chose the magnificent people used to be the faces of PPB accessories. My theme for this shoot was "The Dope & Different Black" so I wanted to work with individuals that are not what your used to hearing about with cool hair cuts. Let's first start off with Omena El.

Omena El is a Personal Chef/Holistic Nutrionist: One who deals with health as a whole, including the mental, spiritual & physical well being. Omena can do anything from color therapy to creating a whole meal plan for you and your family. But what really makes Omena stand out as a Holistic Nutritionist is her sense of style. Omena is always FLY!! When I say she will come to your home and give you a whole health evaluation with lenseless glasses, an African print jumpsuit and that Banging ass hair cut w/ the little fro at the top...She is Holistically Fly but don't take my word, see for your self!!

The second person is Lorenza, a Baker & Black Socialite. Lorenza makes beautiful/delicious baked goods and yes she can bake gluten free & vegan. Lorenza bakes goods for very cool events such as Speak Easy's and Trendy birthday celebrations. And while we are mentioning cool events, let's not forget to mention that Lorenza finds a way to be at every event before or after she goes to her yoga classes...A true socialite!! But what makes her stand out is how regal she is, personality wise and in dress code. Lorenza can step on any scene and you have to do a double take as she has smooth dark skin, a low hair cut and poise...not to mention conversations with this Lovely Lady Libra can easily go from very whimsicle to very intellectual in a matter of minutes. Did I mention people always think we're sisters because we really do resemble each other a lot and we're Libra's.

I am really excited to write about these two brothers, Manchildblack + Monstah Black = The Blacks

Manchildblack is a singer, recording artist, designer and co-producer of one of NYC's hottest parties, Libation. Monstah Black is a singer, performance artist, designer and one of the creators behind the notorious Cabaret Cataplexy.
add to what I admire about these two young men, each of The Blacks are working on a solo albums, but this power couple as in beautiful couple is collaborating for the first time on a electro funk project, expected release early next year....talk about dope.

And Last but not least there is always an interesting twist when I do photoshoots, so here it is. I was at a Rapheal Siddiq concert and my plan was to shoot the above group of individuals but one of the people I planned on shooting was not able to attend so I told the universe that I am going to find a cool Sis w/ her head shaved on the sides to shoot and believe it or not I saw this Sister sitting w/ a blue mohawk and shaved sides...I said I have to shoot her but I needed to organize my accessories and have a brief meeting w/ my assistant and photog so I said when I'm done I'll ask her. As I was in the meeting, Q(sista w/ the mohawk) walked up to me and we started conversing and wham, I was like "my name is bla bla, I am doing a shoot bla bla....I would love to have you shoot in my accessories" and she said yes ...yaay. With no suprise to me I found out that Q is into some cool stuff. First off she was visiting from Atl where she specializes in natural hair care and styling which you can check out at houseofnappy.com, I may dye my hair Purple now lol. And music.....YALL KNO I"M A NEW MUSIC FANANTIC and she makes soulful but funky/ mind travel music...you know those sounds that you blaze too or if your like me and don't blaze but enjoy the aroma, you just sit up under someone smoking and zone out =D or just bounce, her music is that awesome.

Ohh another bonus is a photo of the first Sis that bought earrings from me, Mya. Mya simply has a beautiful energy and of course she has talent. Mya is a film maker and as you can see beautiful with a funky ass hair cut. She was not a part of the photoshoot but she is so beautiful in spirit that she sent me a photo of her wearing my earring. Yes WoW is a perfect expression 8-D

How the hell I end up in one of the shoots?? lol Let me keep it simple by saying I have a creative addiction. So what happened was after the first shoot I realized I didn't make any bags and I really wanted some for self but while buying notions, I was moved to make more earrings and needed to shoot them to put on the website so I reached out really last minute to a aweeesome photographer(Heather Perry) who lives in L.A and decided I was worth the time. Heather is very talented as the photos speak for self but her personality is cool as hell also, I was pleasantly surprised by it all!! And to touch on the photographer of the first shoot Dexter Wordsmith Jones...His style of shooting is one to just drool over. I'm a biig fan of grunge, unpolished work that is still clean & Dexter has a way of making you say "I remember you shooting it but seriously how did you get it to look like that"...phenom!

HeEey Eclectic Urban World. Today I have a very interesting story of a photoshoot that took more than many twists and turns but where do I start? I start by not dwelling on the past, trials and obstacles...We Only move Forward; STRONGER...FASTER...GREATER! However I will share the many things I learned.......

1st- I learned to believe in my ppl, no matter how things turned out later, believe in your ppl first, let's take chances w/ each other, you could be very pleasantly suprised!
2nd- Sounds corny but F it...Go for what ever it is you wan't, don't let anyone dictate how you move at all, everyone can't make it the same way!! And don't let anyone make you feel ashamed bc you make mistakes or bc your still learning. Like I said everyone can speculate but...Who's making moves?? It's really easy to be like "If that was me, I would of..." YEA YEA
3rd- Be humane first, don't let anything turn you into a Robot...I move God like w/ Respect being top priority for my peers and my mental and physical health being top priority over what needs to get done!
4th- Have Fun & don't miss a moment!!! Life is crazy short...laugh every chance...If you trip, laugh, if you get kicked out of a damn museum laugh(hahaaa)
5th- Believe in your shit more than anybody, even if it's not 100% what you planned..it's yours...STAND behind that ugly truth or mistake and sell it to the world until you get it right!!! Seeeriously! Ppl are group thinkers and or groupies, they only believe in you when they see big things popping but on the come up support may be non-existant....THANK DA UNIVERSE FOR MY CIRCLE...I have much support, true believers & honest/wise words given to me!
5th- Control your emotions!!! It's the only way to think clearly and navigate with ease through your personal life and business!! Do not let obstacles make you freeze up or stop! You fight & fight some more and push and push again and knock until the world answers and when that fails pick locks, go through back doors/windows. Be aggresive but conscious of others...of course you can do both! I'm a Boss Bitch and Imhotep all in one.
LAST BUT NOT LEAST- POSITIVE ENERGY!!...If you are reading this right now and you have friends and business partners that are not on the 100% building of you and themselves...YOU ARE SLOWING YOUR OWN PROGRESS & BLOCKING YOUR RECEPTORS!! Negativity is waiting for you as soon as you open your eyes in the morning, so to have that fighting you from the outside and it's inside your circle...Good Luck.

This is the part where the acting took place, "Peace Queen can I call you?"..."Who me?" lol they were too funny and Rara controlling her guys like a Sealey do. =D

This was the funniest pt bc I told the girls to act like they were laughing and talking but they were really cracking up like they was talking about something everytime we said " AND CUT" lmao, they were a blast!...Had us all cracking up!

While me the guys & the Rara was outside shooting, my MUA Ummkhair was inside making magic appear on these already beauuutiful young ladies faces. That make up was phenominal!! Don't you agree!

It was Fucking CoOold...I was non-stop moving as usual & the ladies were too cute, they had to hold on to each other to block the cold winds that were harping. Yall kicked ass out there though...Big Time.

I got word that the ladies felt neglected by Purple Pill Babies so Yes Ladies,"I Pop'd Da Cherry"!.... Hey, Get your mind out of the gutter damnit, And they Call Me a Nimfo(oops) I meant, Im refering to this dope sister I met, Cherry Hustle..A Sk8r Girl or what I refer to as Simply BAD ASS!! Cherry was the only female amongst a crew of male skaters sitting on some steps next to a scooter but standing out. This chick never wore make up, has gadges in her ears, lip peircings, Tattoos I'm gonna copy(lol) and still managed to look flawless, bring sex appeal in her own way and the raw element of edge to this photoshoot. Her board was broken when we did this photoshoot so we said "fuck it" how cool would it be to shoot a skater on just a deck and still move your imaginations. Her presence and beauty is way more radiant than she can realize at 20 yrs old. Ollie is an experienced skater who is well known for his ruthless style of skating, really dark skin, fucking up dudes twice his size but actively being a big help and mentor to young skaters and skate life!

OLLIE-INTERVIEW
1. How long have you been skating, where are you fr & what do you do out there?
Ollie:I have been addicted to skateboarding for 10 years now (the best and worst decision I've made). I was born and raised in Washington D.C. (District of Columbia). Currently I am "ollietrollie.com('n)".

2. So I hear bc your skate ability you've been on tour...list some places skating took you & how would ppl describe you as a skater(style)??
Ollie:Although I started to skate when I was roughly 17, skateboarding has been a childhood friend thats been with me through thick and thin. I have been fortunate enough to travel to Europe (Spain, Barcelona & Paris, France) and have visited major cities through out the US. Most often skateboarding, reveals parts of my personality that I suppress to appear orderly in the presence of others.

3. Whats your advise for young/new skaters?
Ollie:Enjoy where your at, get where your going.

4. Tell us something random about you or an interesting thought you been having..
Ollie:I never remember how old I am, ever...(How old is this dude)lol??

5. Whats da funniest skate story you have?
Ollie:Youtube Eric Johnson, Thriller Bonus. This video would sum up an hilarious tragedy.

DJ is a young skater, who not only skates but took it a step further to become a skate filmographer. DJ is also known as a cool and modest but very humerous down for anything kinda dude.
DJ INTERVIEW 1. What made you start skating & what made you start filming skaters?
DJ:I started skating in middle school, about 8 years ago, eventually I picked up a video camera so in typical filmer style I'm more into manual's and tech stuff.
2 . Tell us a little history about your films!
DJ:When you're young, all of your boys just film eachother, bro-cam. I just took a stronger liking to it than the others. I've now put out 4 full length videos under "Slander Media" in Richmond, VA. The latest being "DJs Trife Life," which is themed around my leaving home, couch surfing, and just filming, skating, and the people I met and places I went this summer '09. Its not setup like a typical skate video, no video parts, but instead sort of documentary style, by city. Including sections from Nashville, Memphis, NYC, Washington DC, and of course Richmond VA, and more.
3. Where are you from DJ and what da hell do you do out there?
DJ:I'm currently staying in Brooklyn, keeping it trife, trying to find a job so I can stay up here. Trying to get the video shown & pushed throughout the city, SO SOMEONE HELP ME FIND A PLACE TO SHOW IT! Email me at dennisfilms@yahoo.com

Esteban is a new Brooklyn based skater who is very talented, early in the game. Esteban is unique as a skater because he is not a rebel with out a cause; does not do any drugs and doesnt really do social networks or texting...Hence there is no interview for him. lol
